Is it safe to keep using it?
Depends on code severity. Low/Medium codes often allow continued use, High severity requires immediate stop.
Can error codes be reset?
Some codes clear after power cycle. Persistent codes indicate underlying issues needing repair.
When should I stop using it?
Stop immediately for water leak codes, burning smell, or any High severity error.

Common Symptom
CLICK-NO-IGN
Clicking but no flame
Medium
Turning the burner knob to the light position produces a clear, rapid clicking sound from the ignition module, but the burner never catches and no flame is visible.
View
CONT-SPARK
Continuous sparking
Medium
The cooktop produces continuous rapid clicking sounds from the ignition module even though no burner knob has been turned, which is the defining observable symptom of CONT-SPARK.
View
F1
Ignition module fault
High
The cooktop control panel displays F1 and no ignition spark is produced when a burner knob is turned to the light position.
View
F3
Flame supervision failure
High
The burner lights normally and burns for 2–10 seconds, then the gas valve closes and the display shows F3, indicating the flame sensor did not confirm a stable signal.
View
F4
Gas valve error
High
Selecting a burner produces a spark but no gas flow, and the display immediately shows F4 as the control board reports a gas valve fault.
View
GAS-SMELL
Gas odor detected
High
Natural gas and propane are odorized with mercaptan, producing a distinct sulfur or rotten-egg smell. Any detection of this odor near the cooktop must be treated as a gas leak until proven otherwise.
View
LOW-FLAME
Weak burner flame
Medium
At maximum knob setting the burner flame is visibly lower than expected — typically less than half the height of a properly functioning burner on the same cooktop.
View
NO-IGN
Burner won't ignite
Medium
Turning the burner knob to the light position produces clicking from the igniter but the burner never ignites, and after several seconds the control board stops the sequence and shows NO-IGN.
View
PF
Power failure detected
Low
The control panel shows PF immediately when power returns after an outage or breaker trip — the most common and expected presentation of this code.
View
YELLOW-FL
Yellow or sooty flame
Medium
The normally blue cone flame is replaced by a tall, flickering yellow or orange flame across all or part of the burner ring — the most reliable observable indicator of combustion problems.
