COMP-CLICK Compressor clicks, won't start High A sharp clicking sound comes from the compressor area at regular intervals as the start relay attempts to engage the motor. View COMP-RUN Compressor runs constantly Medium A continuous motor hum can be heard from beneath or behind the unit at all times, never pausing for an off cycle. View DOOR-SEAL Door not sealing properly Medium When the door is closed on a dollar bill, the bill slides out with little or no resistance at one or more points around the perimeter. View FAN-FAIL Fan not running High Placing a hand near the fan grille inside the cabinet reveals no moving air, even when the compressor is running and the unit is trying to cool. View FROST Excessive frost buildup Medium A layer of white frost or solid ice coats the back panel inside the refrigerator compartment, sometimes extending to shelves. View ICE-UP Evaporator icing up Medium A solid block of ice or thick frost coats the evaporator coil area behind the rear panel, visible when inspecting the unit. View LIGHT-OUT Interior light not working Low Opening the refrigerator door reveals a completely dark interior — no light turns on despite the unit appearing to function normally in all other respects. View NO-COOL Unit not cooling High Opening the door reveals no cool air; interior feels the same temperature as the outdoor ambient. View NOISE Unusual noises from unit Medium A loose mechanical rattle comes from the compressor compartment, condenser pan area, or the unit body — often intermittent and varying with compressor cycles. View TEMP-FL Temperature fluctuating Medium A thermometer placed inside shows temperature rising and falling by 10 °F or more over the course of an hour rather than holding steady. View WARM Interior too warm High A thermometer placed inside reads 5 °F or more above the thermostat setting after 30 minutes of closed-door time.
