Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
CLICK-NO-IGN Igniter clicks, no flame Medium The spark is clearly present at the igniter tip when the knob is clicked, but the burner gas does not catch and hold a flame. View FLARE-UP Excessive flare-ups High Large flame columns 6 inches or more above grate level occur frequently during cooking, especially when fat drips. View GAS-SMELL Gas odor at grill High A sulfur or rotten-egg smell is noticeable when approaching the grill even though all burner knobs are in the OFF position. View HOT-SPOT Uneven heat zones Medium Items placed on different zones of the cooking surface finish at very different times despite identical placement and settings. View LID-WARP Lid not sealing properly Medium With the lid lowered, daylight or heat shimmer is visible through a gap running along one or more sides of the lid-to-firebox junction. View LOW-FLAME Weak grill flame Medium Burner flames sit unusually low at the ports and do not reach normal height even at the highest knob setting. View NO-IGN Grill won't ignite Medium Clicking the igniter knob produces no visible spark at the burner ports, and the burner does not light. View ROTIS-FAIL Rotisserie motor failure Low The rotisserie spit remains stationary after switching the motor on, even though power is confirmed at the outlet. View RUST-THRU Firebox corrosion High Rust has progressed to the point where the firebox steel has perforated, allowing flame or heat to escape through unintended openings. View SIDE-FAIL Side burner failure Medium Rotating the side burner knob to the ignite position produces no spark and no flame, even with confirmed gas supply. View TEMP-HIGH Grill overheating High The built-in dome thermometer shows temperatures well above the expected range for the current burner knob positions. View YELLOW-FL Yellow or sooty flame Medium The burner flame color has shifted from the normal blue with small yellow tips to predominantly orange or yellow. View
