Enter the code shown on your ranges display

Is it safe to keep using it?

Depends on code severity. Low/Medium codes often allow continued use, High severity requires immediate stop.

Can error codes be reset?

Some codes clear after power cycle. Persistent codes indicate underlying issues needing repair.

When should I stop using it?

Stop immediately for water leak codes, burning smell, or any High severity error.

Low Medium High
Code Meaning Severity Common Symptom
ERR General system error Medium The control panel shows ERR and prevents any oven function from starting until the error is cleared by a reset. View F1 Watchdog timer fault High The alphanumeric display cycles the F1 code repeatedly and all cooking functions become unresponsive. View F2 High temperature alarm High The bake or broil element de-energizes automatically and the display shows F2, often accompanied by a continuous alarm beep. View F3 Shorted temp sensor High The control panel shows F3 as soon as the range is powered on, before any cooking function is selected, indicating a persistent sensor fault. View F4 Open temp sensor circuit High The range displays F4 and refuses to energize the oven elements — the board will not heat without a valid sensor signal. View F7 Door lock over-temp fault Medium The self-clean cycle aborts partway through, the display shows F7, and the door remains locked until the oven cavity cools below the unlock threshold. View F8 Door lock switch fault Medium The self-clean cycle fails to initiate, displaying F8 immediately — the board cannot confirm the door is locked and refuses to proceed. View F9 Door lock motor jammed Medium The most common presentation: the door lock motor stalls partway through its travel and F9 appears, leaving the door in a partially locked state. View F10 Control board comm error High Some or all oven functions stop responding while the display shows F10 — surface burners may still work since they do not depend on the communication bus. View GAS-SMELL Gas odor near range High Natural gas is odorized with mercaptan, producing a distinctive sulfur smell. Any perception of this odor near the range must be taken seriously and acted upon immediately. View NO-IGN Burner ignition failure Medium The igniter sparks repeatedly for several seconds but the burner flame does not establish. After the retry period, NO-IGN is displayed and the gas valve closes. View PF Power failure detected Low The range powers back on after an outage and shows PF on the display. No other functions are affected once the code is acknowledged. View SLOW-HEAT Oven slow to preheat Medium An independent oven thermometer confirms the cavity is heating but is lagging significantly behind the expected preheat time, indicating reduced burner output or heat retention.
