This notice covers fisher & paykel 48″ range recall 2026. Read the full advisory below for affected models, safety actions, and next steps.
The Fisher & Paykel 48-inch professional gas range recall is part of the broader CPSC-confirmed RGV3-series recall. Owners of the 48-inch configuration face a particularly urgent situation: these flagship ranges — priced from $10,000 to $14,000 — contain the same defective oven ignitor identified in the full recall, and oven use must be suspended immediately until a free professional repair is completed.
About the 48-Inch RGV3 Configuration
The 48-inch RGV3 is the largest and most powerful configuration in the Fisher & Paykel professional range lineup, sold under both the Fisher & Paykel and DCS brand names. These dual-fuel or all-gas ranges feature multiple oven cavities and up to six burners, making them the centerpiece of high-end residential kitchens. They were sold at specialty appliance retailers and online between June 2025 and March 2026 for $10,000 to $14,000.
Confirm your unit is affected: Locate the serial number on the label inside the oven door frame. If the serial number begins with EEV, ERV, EAV, EYV, EUV, ELV, or RFV, your range is included in this recall — regardless of width or configuration.
The Defect and Hazard
The oven ignitor in affected 48-inch models can fail to ignite gas promptly after the oven is turned on, allowing gas to accumulate in the oven cavity. When ignition finally occurs, the force of the delayed combustion can blow the oven door open with enough energy to cause burns to the face, hands, or body of anyone standing in front of the range. Fisher & Paykel received 18 delayed ignition reports across all sizes, including one confirmed minor burn injury.
Important: the cooktop surface burners on the 48-inch model are not affected by this defect. You may continue using the surface burners while awaiting the oven repair.
Immediate Steps for 48-Inch Range Owners
- Discontinue all oven use immediately — including bake, broil, convection, and self-clean modes — until the ignitor has been professionally replaced.
- Verify your serial number prefix (EEV, ERV, EAV, EYV, EUV, ELV, or RFV) on the oven door frame label inside the door opening.
- Call Fisher & Paykel at 866-936-7327 to register your range and schedule a free in-home ignitor replacement. Mention the 48-inch model so the correct parts are dispatched to your location.
- Email your serial number photo to [email protected] if the support team requests documentation to confirm eligibility.
- Do not sell or transfer the appliance before the recall repair has been completed and documented in writing from Fisher & Paykel.
